Back to LAN Home
@everyone, one final post.
The dust is starting to settle in; it is time to reflect, deflect, and think about the future. It is only now that I'm able to process what has happened, what we have achieved as a community. I am taking this opportunity to include some of my own words as well.
THANK YOU
When I woke up today, I felt weird and emotional. It was at that moment that I began to process and start to realize what we have achieved.
Before I get all emotional and express my journey and feelings, I want to take a moment to thank all the captains. eronnn, WuT, mAus, soNny, smak, hAFER, jAmaTo:o), HeDo had the unthinkable task of being responsible and managing a team for this event. These people are the building blocks of each and every event. Thank you for being so communicative before and during the event. You guys are awesome.
I got to meet a new person in my life, Helldembez. A very humble, polite, and sincere person. Furthermore, a great and wonderful admin. Much of the work is done behind the scenes. Helldembez has been responsible for all technical details during this journey, and he did fantastic. I am extremely proud that I was able to work together with such a genuine person. Words can't explain my gratefulness, but I'll still try. Thank you, my new friend.
I want to thank Ekto. Rarely do I come across people who stick to their word as much as he does. I am grateful to have had Ekto around for this event, and he is without a doubt the main reason why we were able to maintain such a tight and successful schedule. Thank you a lot, buddy. I don't think you realize the appreciation I have for you.
Others that I have to mention are mAxPower and Jercules for working day in and day out on manually running the statistics. We are still working on an automated system, but for now, it has to be done manually. Please be aware of the effort he has put in to create all of this for us.
msh100 for providing us with a server to play on during LAN and the continuous support of GTV throughout the years.
I want to thank our streamers: keithms, revipod, Matias, potty, and francis. Thank you for being available at such short notice and helping us provide the best content available for our game. Excellent work.
HeDo and his company Digipas for their financial sponsorship and helpful thoughts throughout the entire process. It was nice getting to know you, my friend.
serenity for their content before and during the LAN. @Timbolina for his sponsorship.
We found ourselves a new venue and a new location. In my opinion, the best one to date, competitive-wise and by a mile. The level of equipment, the expertise from the staff, the main stage, the video from the creators of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (wow!), it was all amazing and immensely better than previous editions. We can actually say we hosted an eSports event.
Lastly, I want to thank my own team, Elysium: viSualoutlAw, viSualiNsAne, Jere, hayaa, and GiZmOoO. This might have been our final performance, and the book might actually come to an end after all this time. Regardless, and this makes me emotional, these guys mean the world to me. The joy that they have provided me with is something I'll always take with me in life. I am very happy that I got to meet these people in life and that I have been able to take on this adventure with them. I can be very demanding as a captain, but they have always been understanding. It is without a doubt that I am the proudest captain there is. Thank you for everything, thank you for all these unique memories and laughs we have had for more than 8 years.
THE FUTURE
Personally, I need to take a break. Gaming is not something that I'm able to maintain in my life. My love for the game is immense, and never did I think that after 2017 and 2019 I'd be spending so many hours and be so involved with the game again after all this time. But it came at a great cost, and I need to make up for many things in my personal life that I have been sacrificing in the last months. There are no complaints from my side, and I love you guys all. However, it is time-consuming to voluntarily spend so much time on something. I'd like to pursue a career in different areas now and see how far I can get there.
